The latest forecast for Northeast & North Central Vermont including Caledonia, Orleans, Essex, and Orange Counties.

Forecast discussion goes here.As the low pressure system from last night continues to move northeast towards the Gulf of Maine, the Northeast Kingdom will continue to be affected by its associated precipitation. Upper air aloft has warmed up just enough to allow for freezing rain to fall on top of the snow and sleet accumulation, making already hazardous road conditions even worse. As the morning progresses, the rain will change back over to sleet and eventually snow showers by the afternoon, with an additional light accumulation expected during this time. By the nighttime hours, clearing will begin to occur, as high pressure will move in and stabilize the region. Colder air will be in place over the weekend, with lows dipping below zero degrees on Saturday night before leveling out to seasonable conditions on Sunday.
