On Thursday November 6th we are having another guest join us for our weekly seminar series. This week we are pleased to welcome Laura Lenfest, who will be speaking at 12:30 in ASAC 319. Below is a brief bio on Laura.

Laura Lenfest is a Master’s student and teaching assistant at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  Her undergraduate research focused on the GBVTD analysis of low-level wind fields in the Goshen County Tornado under Dr. Nolan T. Atkins.  She is currently conducting research for her Master’s thesis on land-atmosphere interactions and their influence on convective initiation in the boundary layer under her advisor Dr. Song-Lak Kang.  For the past year, she has also been teaching an introductory atmospheric science lab course for non-majors.  A Lyndon alumna and former LSC AMS Chapter President, she earned her B.S. in Atmospheric Science in 2012 and was one of the first to graduate with the career concentration in Climate Science.  She hopes to continue her contributions to the research sector in New England, close to her native state of Maine, after graduate school.
