Lyndon’s AMS/NWA Student Chapter Receives Honor Roll Award from National AMS

LSC AMS/NWA Club Officers

The American Meteorological Society has recently awarded the Lyndon Student Chapter of the AMS Honor Roll Status for 2013-2014.

The American Meteorological Society recognizes exceptional students chapters around the country by awarding “Chapter of the Year” and “Honor Roll” awards.  This year, the Lyndon Chapter of the AMS/NWA was awarded Honor Roll status.  The club has been very active this year hosting a successful speaker series, bringing in a wide range of speakers to campus, executing a successful 39th Northeastern Storm Conference, holding events like Sector Search to educate the membership about the field of Atmospheric Sciences, and much more.

Only 5-6 student chapters are recognized each year by the AMS.  Since the award inception in 1999, the Lyndon Chapter has received “Chapter of the Year” three times.  Our student chapter has now received “Honor Roll” eight times, a clear testament to the excellent work of our chapter promoting the mission of the national AMS.  More information on the Lyndon Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society can be found at:
