Awards
The Lyndon State College Student Chapter
of the AMS and the NWA is nationally recognized
year after year for the wealth of benefits
it brings to its members, the College, and
the greater community. Since being established
in 1975:
- The club has won the prestigious American
Meteorological Society (AMS) Student Chapter
of the Year three times over the last 9 years:
- 1999-2000,
- 2000-2001, and
- 2004-2005.
- The club has just recently won the
National Weather Association club of the
year for 2008-2009.
- Student Chapter Honor Roll status was
awarded to the club by the AMS six times since the award
was created in 1999:
- 2001-2002,
- 2002-2003,
- 2003-2004,
- 2005-2006,
- 2006-2007, and
- 2007-2008.
- The club received the National Weather
Service Certificate of Recognition in 2000 for "outstanding
contributions in promoting exchange of atmospheric
and hydrologic knowledge throughout the Northeast
United States.
